Lazy Days of Summer

Jason was home this past weekend. It was so great having him here. He was able to spend 5 days with us, and we wanted him to stay forever. Guess that means we really love him… (In commiserating with Kay, the wife of Jason’s employee Nate, about how long they’ve been gone she said “I didn’t know I loved him that much”.) It really is true that absence makes the heart grow fonder. We are sure missing dad this summer, and we’re glad that this 3 1/2 month job is very near the end! While he was in town we were able to do some fun stuff with the kiddos, and we went out on a hot date to dinner and a movie, but mostly we just relaxed at home. Walked into the living room one day to find Teegan asleep on the couch. The kids are past the point of summer being fun, they are bored and they are definitely excited for school to get started back up.
When I said we relaxed at home, I really meant we laid around and slept. We’ve all been working so hard this summer, it was nice to take a break from it all.

I love sleeping babies. I know, she’s not a baby anymore. In fact, her 2nd birthday is just around the corner. (sniff, sniff)
We loved having you home dad, and we can’t wait for you to be back for good. A few more days love.
