Christmas this year was a smaller affair than usual. We were leaving the morning after Christmas for a week in northern California. We asked the kids a few months back if they would prefer Christmas presents or a trip to Cali this year and the vote was unanimous. So, Santa came and filled their stockings and brought them books like every year. But, they didn’t get any presents from mom and dad this year except their pjs. (And the trafalga passes we got 3 months ago!). Even still, Christmas was so nice. On Christmas Eve we went over to the Ellison’s for dinner and games and it was a ton of fun. And then Christmas Day it was just us. Nice and semi-quiet. And then packing for the trip that evening. I love my kids and I’m so grateful for this time of year when we can be reminded that it’s better to give than receive. And I love my Savior and appreciate this time of year when I am reminded of His humble birth. Merry Christmas to all my friends and family!
